In addition to filming short videos about neighborhood sites of significance to them, PDUB Youth regularly documented Historic Filipinotown, providing source material for “Creating and Recreating Historic Filipinotown,” a UCLA History seminar taught by Professor Janice Reiff. As neighborhood “experts,” PDUB Youth led a tour of Historic Filipinotown for the UCLA students that culminated in a mixer at Tribal Café, a popular local spot. In return, UCLA students provided research assistance for PDUB’s Mobile Hi Fi Tours and HyperCities content. As a direct result of PDUB Productions’ collaboration with UCLA, two UCLA students who enrolled in the seminar are interning at Pilipino Workers’ Center this summer.
